Coronavirus Information

Letter from the General Manager
We know that our customers have concerns and questions during the current Coronavirus pandemic. We've put together information here, on this page, to answer the most common questions we are hearing from our customers.

We have made a number of changes to our operations, as follows:
  • The First District Water Department office will be closed to the public effective Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice
  • Payments may be: left in the front door mail slot, made online, or made by phone by calling 203-847-7387 (option 1)
  • We are temporarily suspending our Distribution staff from working in the field so we are currently unable to take readings for final bills. We can however generate a final bill as long as the Attorney/Client provides First District with a final reading
  • To set up new services please send an email to info@firstdistrictwater.org and we will contact you to provide assistance
  • Effective immediately the District has instituted the following policies:
         > residential disconnections for non-payment have been suspended for as long as the state of emergency exists in the
             State of Connecticut
         > no interest charges will be incurred for late payments
         > no penalties will be incurred on accounts
         > no fees will be charged for returned checks
We have been monitoring this situation daily and have been working closely with local and state government to insure we are responding in the most appropriate ways. As this situation evolves, we will be posting any new information here on this page.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at info@firstdistrictwater.org.
