Production Operator: The First District Water Department in Norwalk, CT has an opening for a Production Operator. The duties include efficient operation of water treatment, pumping and storage facilities utilizing remote or local controls; preventative maintenance and repairs; handling chemicals; laboratory analysis and record keeping; operate computerized and manual controls, piping, pumps and appurtenant electrical and control systems; and cleaning of equipment and facilities. When On Call and during emergencies, availability is required 24 hours per day including weekends and holidays.

Requires high school or vocational school diploma or an equivalent certificate; valid motor vehicle license; good mechanical, customer service and computer skills. Connecticut Department of Public Health Class 4 WTP Operators Certificate is preferred and required after five years from hire. Competitive wages and benefits.
